First Trust FactorFX UCITS ETF is an exchange traded fund launched and managed by First Trust Advisors L.P. It is co-managed by First Trust Global Portfolios Limited. The fund invests in the fixed income markets across the globe. It invests directly and also uses derivatives such as forwards, futures, swaps, and options to invest in local currency denominated sovereign bonds with duration of less than 2 years. The fund focuses on factors such as employing the tendency of higher yielding assets to provide higher returns than lower yielding assets, tendency for relatively low priced assets to outperform relatively high priced assets, and tendency for an asset’s recent relative performance to continue in the near future to create its portfolio. It benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the JP Morgan G10 Carry Index. The fund conducts in-house and proprietary research to create its portfolio.
