It invests in the public equity markets of the United States. The fund takes short positions and uses derivatives such as swap agreement to invest in the stocks of companies operating across diversified sectors. It invests in the stocks of large-cap companies. The fund seeks to replicate the performance of the S&P 500 Inverse Daily Index, by employing synthetic replication methodology. The index seeks to track inverse of the daily performance of the S&P 500 Total Return (TR) Index. It was formerly known as db x-trackers - S&P 500 Inverse Daily UCITS ETF. Xtrackers S&P 500 Inverse Daily Swap UCITS ETF was formed on January 15, 2008 and is domiciled in Luxembourg.
