Anthropic files for IPO, plans Nasdaq listing under "ANT"

Anthropic, the AI lab behind Claude, is heading to the public markets after filing an S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company intends to list its Class A common stock on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol "ANT" (ANT).

• Anthropic filed its Form S-1 with the SEC on October 26 relating to a proposed IPO of Class A common stock. The number of shares and the price range have yet to be determined (1, 2).
• Goldman Sachs (GS) is listed first among the underwriters, with Morgan Stanley (MS) second. Both namely underwrote the SpaceX (SPCX) IPO in June (2).
• Anthropic's revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026 was $16.29B. This is an increase of 1,304%, up from $1.16B in the same period a year earlier, CNBC reports (3).
• The company recorded a net loss of $80.7B in H1 2026, after a $12.9B loss in the same period of 2025. Full year 2025 revenue was $4.59B and the net loss was about $41.9B (4).
• The October 26 S-1 comes after Anthropic's confidential filing with the SEC in June (5).
• In May, Anthropic closed a funding round at a $965B valuation, raising $65B, led by Altimeter Capital, Dragoneer, Greenoaks, and Sequoia Capital. Weeks later, Microsoft (MSFT) disclosed a $3.2B gain on its stake, originating from a $5B investment last November (6, 7).
• Anthropic is an AI company that's best known for its Claude models, designed for writing, coding, business uses, and more uses. It offers a Claude chatbot as well as Claude Code for development (8).
• The company has experienced rapid growth, with its annualized revenue run rate increasing from about $1B in early 2025 to over $47B in 2026, according to the company. Anthropic also says demand for its models and products continues to rise (5).
