Albion Venture Capital Trust PLC is a venture capital trust specialize in early stage and growth stage investments.it prefer to invest in information technology, healthcare technology, environmental sector and fintech sector related companies. It does not invest in companies that deal in property or shares and securities, banking, and agriculture. The fund's investments are normally structured as a mixture of equity and loan stock, with a majority of loan stock. Its portfolio company gross assets must not exceed £15 million ($18.67 million) immediately prior to the investment and £16 million ($19.92 million) immediately thereafter. The fund seeks to invest in qualifying quoted and unquoted companies. It seeks to make investments in healthcare and environmental sectors in the United Kingdom. It seeks to hold 50 percent stake in the portfolio company. The fund typically holds its investments for a period of five years. It invests in shares or securities including loans with a five year or greater maturity period. It invests alongside selected partners with experience in the sectors concerned. Other than the loan stock issued by the fund, portfolio companies do not normally have external borrowings.
