TransCentury PLC, an investment holding company, invests in power infrastructure, transport infrastructure, and engineering industries in East, Central, and Southern Africa.
The company operates through two segments, Power and Engineering. The Power division manufactures cables, such as overhead conductors, power and control cables, speciality and design cables, building wires, data and communication cables, instrumentation and control cables, and mining cables; transformers, including distribution and power transformers; switch gears consisting of low and medium voltage switch gears, as well as automation and control panels; and SDMO and power generators.
This division also undertakes turnkey projects comprising substations, and distribution and transmission lines, as well as power source and transformer servicing activities.
It serves retail outlets, electrical contractors, and projects and utilities companies. The Engineering division provides mechanical engineering, including pipeline and piping, marine vessels, geothermal steam fields, and tankage; civil engineering, such as roads and bridges, piling, well pads, plant hire, and mining services; logistics consisting heavy loads, specialized cargo, off road haulage, temporary camps/offices, and camp construction; cranage and erection services, including steel erection, cranage, and heavy lift; and industrial weighing equipment, installation of weigh bridges, video jet printers, applied solutions, and generators, as well as bearings and sub-stations.
The company also undertakes infrastructure projects. TransCentury PLC was incorporated in 1997 and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
