Good day, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the 2020 Annual Meeting of Stockholders for Nutanix. At this time, all participants are on a listen-only mode. I would now like to hand the conference over to your speaker today, Mr. Dheeraj Pandey, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nutanix. Sir, you may begin.
Good morning, everyone. I am Dheeraj Pandey, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nutanix, and it is a pleasure to welcome you to Nutanix's 2020 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. I will act as Chairperson of this meeting. I have asked Tyler Wall, our Chief Legal Officer, to record the minutes of this meeting. First, I'd like to introduce Rajiv Ramaswami, our new President and Chief Executive Officer, and ask him to say a few words. Rajiv?
Hey, thank you, Dheeraj. I'm excited to be here at Nutanix and looking forward to driving growth for the company in its second decade. I was drawn to the opportunity to lead a company with such an amazing product, world-class service, and, of course, huge market opportunity. I look forward to speaking to our shareholders in more detail in our February earnings call. Back to you, Dheeraj.
Thanks, Rajiv. We are excited for you to be here. Before proceeding further, let me introduce the other directors, director nominees, and members of management of the company who are with us today. Our directors and director nominees: Sohaib Abbasi, Susan Bostrom, Craig Conway, Virginia Gambale, Stephen Gomo, Max de Groen, David Humphrey, Ravi Mhatre, Jeffrey Parks, and Brian Stevens. I will now turn the meeting over to Tyler Wall, who will conduct the formal portion of the meeting. Tyler?
Thanks, Dheeraj. The annual meeting is being held for the following purposes: first, to elect three Class I directors to serve until the annual meeting of stockholders after our fiscal year ending July 31, 2023. Second, to ratify the selection of Deloitte & Touche as our independent registered public accounting firm for our fiscal year ending July 31, 2021. Third, to approve, on a non-binding advisory basis, the compensation of our named executive officers. In a moment, we will make an announcement regarding the preliminary results. The notice of availability of proxy materials was mailed on or about October 26, 2020, to all stockholders of record as of October 13, 2020. We've appointed Chris Viecco, representative of Broadridge Financial Solutions, to act as Inspector of Elections for this annual meeting. Chris has advised me that we have enough shares to constitute a quorum. Therefore, we may proceed with the meeting.
It is now 9:04 A.M. Pacific Time on December 11, 2020, and the polls for each matter to be voted on at this meeting are now open. First item of business is the election of directors. As described in our proxy statement, Sue Bostrom, Stephen Gomo, and Max de Groen have been nominated by the company's Board of Directors to serve as Class I directors until the annual meeting of stockholders after the end of our fiscal year ending July 31, 2023. The next item of business is to ratify the selection of Deloitte & Touche as the company's independent registered public accounting firm for the fiscal year ending July 31, 2021. The next item of business is to approve, on a non-binding advisory basis, the compensation of our named executive officers.
If you have not voted and intend to vote, please do so now online as no ballots, proxies, or votes, or any changes or revocations will be accepted after the closing of the polls. It is now 9:05 A.M. on December 11, 2020, and the polls are now closed. At this time, the Inspector of Elections has provided a preliminary report on the voting results, which are as follows: with regard to Proposal One, the three director nominees have been elected. These are the preliminary results of voting. The final results of voting will be set forth in the report of the Inspector of Elections. Final results will also be reported in a Form 8-K to be filed with the SEC.
The formal portion of the meeting is now concluded, and I'll turn the meeting back over to Dheeraj.
Thanks, Tyler. As Jeff Parks' term as a director ends with this annual meeting, I'd like to thank Jeff for his seven years of service to the board. I want to thank all of you for attending today's annual meeting and for the support you've shown in our company. We very much appreciate your attendance, and as always, thank you for your support.
