Google Docs Downloads

Updated July 8, 2026

Enabling Google Docs Downloads

The first time you download a transcript to Google Docs, you will be prompted to either sign in with Google or give our site/app permission to create and edit Google Docs.

After you grant this permission, you should be able to download to Google Docs without being prompted again as long as you are signed in to Google.

If you have multiple Google accounts, then you may need to select the account you want to use for the download.

How to open Google Docs in a new tab?

When downloading to Google Docs, it should be possible to make the document automatically open in a new tab.

Depending on your browser and settings, you may need to "Allow popups and redirects" on this site.

When you download to Google Docs, an icon may show up in your address bar that you can click on to give the site permission to open links in a new tab.

After you grant this permission, downloading to Google Docs should automatically open the document in a new tab with the transcript already in it.
