Google Sheets Downloads

Updated July 8, 2026

Enabling Google Sheets Downloads

The first time you click "Download to Google Sheets", you will be prompted to either sign in with Google or give our site/app permission to create and edit Google Sheets.

After you grant this permission, you should be able to download to Google Sheets without being prompted again as long as you are signed in to Google.

If you have multiple Google accounts, then you may need to select the account you want to use for the download.

How to open Google Sheets in a new tab?

When downloading to Google Sheets, it should be possible to make the spreadsheet automatically open in a new tab.

Depending on your browser and settings, you may need to "Allow popups and redirects" on this site.

When you click "Download to Google Sheets", an icon may show up in your address bar that you can click on to give the site permission to open links in a new tab.

After you grant this permission, clicking "Download to Google Sheets" should automatically open Google Sheets in a new tab with the downloaded data already in it.
