About Chai Discovery
Chai Discovery is an artificial intelligence company that builds foundation models to predict and design the interactions between biological molecules for drug discovery. Its first model, Chai-1, predicts the three-dimensional structure of proteins, small molecules, DNA and RNA. The company released it for free, including for commercial use. Its later models, Chai-2 and Chai-3, generate custom antibodies and other biologics from scratch, which the company says can produce candidates for hard-to-drug targets and validate them in the lab within weeks. Chai Discovery makes money by licensing its platform to pharmaceutical and biotech companies. It has signed agreements with Eli Lilly, Pfizer and Novartis.
