About ClickHouse
ClickHouse is the company behind the open-source database of the same name, built for real-time analytics and online analytical processing (OLAP) on very large datasets. The technology was originally developed at Yandex to power its Metrica web analytics platform and was released as open source under the Apache 2.0 license in 2016. Its main commercial product is ClickHouse Cloud, a fully managed service that runs on AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. The company has since expanded into LLM observability through its acquisition of Langfuse and into transactional workloads with a managed Postgres offering. ClickHouse makes money by charging for ClickHouse Cloud, where customers pay based on the compute and storage their workloads consume. The company was incorporated in 2021 by Alexey Milovidov, Aaron Katz and Yury Izrailevsky and is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area. It also has a large engineering presence in Amsterdam.
