About CuspAI
CuspAI is a European artificial intelligence company that builds a search engine for new materials. Users specify the chemical and physical properties they need and the platform generates and evaluates synthesizable molecular structures, making discovery up to ten times faster than traditional lab-driven methods. The company makes money through partnerships with industrial customers such as Meta, ASML, Samsung and Hyundai Motor Group, which use its platform to design materials for semiconductors, carbon capture and clean energy. It also runs the AI Materials Foundry, a global network of more than 45 partners including Nvidia and Meta that combines data, labs, compute and scientific expertise for materials design. CuspAI was co-founded in 2024 by chemist Chad Edwards and AI researcher Max Welling, with Nobel laureate Geoffrey Hinton serving as an advisor.
