About Dremio
Dremio is a data lakehouse platform that lets organizations run fast SQL analytics directly on data stored in cloud object storage and open table formats. Its software combines a query engine, a semantic layer and an open catalog built on open-source projects such as Apache Arrow and Apache Iceberg. The company has more recently positioned the product as an "agentic lakehouse" that gives AI agents and analysts governed access to enterprise data. Dremio makes money by selling subscriptions to its lakehouse platform across cloud, hybrid and on-premises deployments. Its customers including Maersk, Shell, S&P Global and Amazon. The company was founded in 2015 by Tomer Shiran and Jacques Nadeau and is headquartered in Austin, Texas. In May 2026, SAP agreed to acquire Dremio, with the transaction expected to close in the third quarter of 2026.
