About Flashbots
Flashbots is a blockchain research and development company that builds much of the transaction ordering infrastructure behind Ethereum. It was formed in 2020 to limit the harms of maximal extractable value (MEV), the extra profit that block producers can capture by reordering user transactions. Its open source MEV-Boost software is used to build over 90% of Ethereum blocks. The company also runs BuilderNet, a decentralized block building network, and Rollup-Boost, which delivers 200-millisecond transaction confirmations on layer 2 networks including Base and Unichain.
