About Flourish
Flourish is an AI research company building brain-inspired systems that aim to match the learning efficiency and energy use of a human brain. It is developing Cortex AI, a synthetic intelligence architecture informed by in-house neuroscience experiments on cortical columns and other brain structures. The stated target is a power budget of 50 watts or less. Flourish does not yet sell a product. It plans to make money by commercializing those models on consumer devices and through hardware partnerships as the research matures. The company was co-founded by Thomas Reardon, who helped build Internet Explorer at Microsoft and later sold neural-interface startup CTRL-labs to Meta.
