About Forto
Forto is a European digital freight forwarder that lets businesses book and manage ocean, air and rail shipments on a software platform. It also handles tracking, documents and customs so shippers can see their cargo in one place. Forto makes money by adding a handling fee to carrier rates for those shipments and by selling FortoLabs AI software that reads logistics documents. It was founded as FreightHub in 2016 by Ferry Heilemann, Fabian Heilemann, Erik Muttersbach and Michael Wax, who previously built DailyDeal and sold it to Google.
