About Lambda
Lambda is an AI infrastructure company that rents out GPU computing power for training and running artificial intelligence models. The company builds and operates large data centers, which it calls AI factories, filled with Nvidia GPUs. It makes money by leasing this compute capacity to customers ranging from individual developers to large enterprises like Microsoft, which signed a multibillion-dollar deal for access to Lambda's GPUs in 2025. Lambda was founded in 2012 by brothers Stephen and Michael Balaban and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
