About Monzo

Monzo is a European digital bank that runs entirely through a smartphone app. It offers UK current accounts, savings, lending, investments and pensions, along with business accounts used by around one in seven UK companies. The company makes money by earning interest on customer deposits and lending, taking interchange fees on card spending and charging for paid subscription plans such as Monzo Plus, Perks and Max. Monzo has more than 15 million customers and holds a full UK banking licence plus an EU licence granted in Ireland, which it is using to expand into Ireland and Spain after closing its US business in 2026.
