About Pacific Fusion
Pacific Fusion is a fusion energy company that develops pulser-driven inertial fusion systems. Instead of magnets or lasers, it uses rapid high-energy electrical pulses from modular impedance-matched Marx generators to compress small deuterium-tritium fuel targets. The company is building a demonstration system in Albuquerque, New Mexico designed to reach net facility gain by 2030, with commercial plants aimed at the mid-2030s. Pacific Fusion makes money by planning to sell electricity from mass-manufacturable fusion power plants. The same pulser hardware is also meant for national-security high-yield experiments and other high-energy-density work. It was co-founded by Eric Lander, the geneticist who led the Human Genome Project.
