About Pika
Pika is an AI video generation company behind the idea-to-video platform at pika.art. Users type a text prompt or upload an image and the platform turns it into a short video clip with sound, along with tools for lip sync, motion effects and remixing existing footage. The company makes money by selling credit-based subscriptions on its website and mobile app, with paid plans that unlock more monthly generation credits and newer models. Pika was founded by Demi Guo and Chenlin Meng, who dropped out of Stanford's AI PhD program in 2023 to build the company.
