About Soufflé Therapeutics
Soufflé Therapeutics is a biotechnology company that develops siRNA medicines designed to reach specific cell types outside the liver. Its REMEDY (Receptor Mediated Delivery) platform identifies receptors that pull molecules into a target cell and pairs them with antibodies or other binders that carry an siRNA payload to silence a disease-causing gene. The lead candidate, SFL-0821, targets the DUX4 gene in skeletal muscle and entered a Phase 1/2 trial for facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) in 2026. Other programs target the phospholamban gene in heart muscle cells for heart failure and an undisclosed target for muscle and metabolic disorders. The company has no approved products and makes money through collaboration and licensing deals with drugmakers, including a 2026 global licensing agreement with Bayer for a heart-targeted siRNA therapy. It was co-founded by MIT professors Robert Langer and Daniel Anderson together with former Alnylam research head Victor Kotelianski.
