About Sword Health
Sword Health is an AI-powered virtual care company that treats musculoskeletal pain and related conditions without in-person visits. Its programs pair wearable motion sensors and proprietary AI with licensed clinicians to deliver physical therapy, pelvic health, movement health and, more recently, mental health care through a service called Mind. Members follow guided exercise sessions at home while the technology tracks their movement and gives real-time feedback, with clinicians stepping in when needed. Sword makes money by selling its platform to large employers, health plans and other payers, which offer it as a benefit and pay based on enrolled members and the healthcare costs it helps them avoid. In January 2026 the company acquired rival Kaia Health for $285 million, moving Kaia's U.S. members onto its platform and giving Sword an entry into the German market. In September 2026 it signed an agreement to acquire Headspace, the meditation and mental health app, with closing expected by the beginning of Q4 2026.
