About Ultima Genomics
Ultima Genomics develops ultra-high-throughput, low-cost DNA sequencing systems built on an architecture the company adapted from the semiconductor industry, sequencing on circular silicon wafers rather than conventional flow cells. Its UG 100 platform, launched after the company emerged from stealth in 2022 with a claimed "$100 genome," and the newer UG 200 series serve biopharma, clinical, and academic labs running large-scale whole-genome, single-cell, proteomics, and cancer-monitoring work. The company makes money by selling the sequencing instruments plus the consumable reagents and wafers they run on, and by running sequencing for customers through its in-house applications lab and technology-access program.
