About Upwind Security

Upwind Security is a cloud security company that runs a runtime-powered cloud-native application protection platform. Its software uses eBPF-based sensors to map cloud assets in near real time and watch live workloads, correlating that runtime context with posture, network, API and data signals so security teams can prioritize the threats that are actually exploitable rather than chase noisy alerts. The platform spans cloud, data, identity, APIs and code and layers in AI agents that automate threat detection and risk assessment. Upwind makes money by selling subscriptions to enterprises with large cloud footprints, counting Siemens, Peloton, Roku, Wix and Nubank among its customers. It was founded in 2022 by the team behind Spot.io, the cloud-optimization company NetApp acquired for $450 million, and is led by CEO Amiram Shachar.
