The fund invests in the fixed income markets of Europe. It takes short positions and uses derivatives such as swaps to invest in on-the-run iTraxx Crossover credit derivative transaction with a term of 5 years. The fund invests in sub-investment grade securities that are rated as BB+ and below by S&P and Fitch and Ba1 and below by Moody’s. It seeks replicate inverse of the daily performance of the Markit iTraxx Crossover 5-year Short Total Return Index, by employing synthetic replication methodology. The index seeks to track the inverse of the daily performance of 5-year iTraxx Crossover credit derivative transactions. The fund was formerly known as db x-trackers II - iTraxx Crossover Short Daily UCITS ETF.
