About ESGG
The Invesco MSCI World Universal Screened UCITS ETF Acc aims to closely replicate the net total return performance of its benchmark, the MSCI World Universal Select Business Screens Index, after accounting for fees. This benchmark tracks large and mid-capitalisation companies in developed global markets. Its underlying investment strategy is designed to identify and favour companies demonstrating not only a robust environmental, social, and governance (ESG) profile but also a positive trend in improving that profile. This is achieved by adjusting the market capitalisation weightings of its constituents based on specific ESG metrics. The construction of this Reference Index starts with the broader MSCI World Index, from which it systematically filters out certain securities. These exclusions include companies that: 1. Have not undergone an ESG assessment or rating by MSCI. 2. Have been embroiled in significant ESG controversies over the preceding three years. 3. Hold a low MSCI ESG Rating of 'CCC'. 4. Are involved in controversial sectors such as controversial weapons, conventional weapons, nuclear weapons, civilian firearms, oil sands, thermal coal, tobacco, or recreational cannabis. For all remaining eligible companies, a composite ESG score is then calculated. This score integrates MSCI’s assessment of both the security’s current ESG standing and the observed progression or decline in its rating over time. This comprehensive ESG metric is subsequently used to re-weight these securities within the Reference Index. To achieve its investment objective, the fund endeavors to acquire and hold, as far as practically possible, all the component securities of the Reference Index in their precise proportional weightings. The ETF undergoes rebalancing in line with any modifications to its benchmark, which itself is reviewed and adjusted on a semi-annual basis. This ETF is a passively managed vehicle; an investment in this fund represents the acquisition of units in an index-tracking product, rather than direct ownership of the underlying assets it holds.
