Xtrackers Physical Gold EUR Hedged ETC is an exchange-traded commodity (ETC) that provides Euro-based investors with targeted exposure to the spot price of physical gold while minimizing EUR/USD currency exchange rate fluctuations through a daily rolling hedge mechanism. Issued by DB ETC plc and domiciled in Jersey, it was launched on 15 June 2010 with an initial entitlement of 1/10 Troy Ounce per security and an issue price of 99.68 EUR. The ETC employs physical replication, backed by allocated gold bars stored in secure London vaults under segregated accounts, ensuring each series has exclusive title to its pool of metal and minimal counterparty risk. Traded in EUR on major European exchanges like XETRA and Borsa Italiana, it offers intra-day liquidity, transparency via daily published gold prices, and returns closely tracking gold spot performance adjusted for fees and the FX hedge.
