The fund is co-managed by BlackRock Advisors (UK) Limited, BlackRock Financial Management Inc., and BlackRock (Singapore) Limited. It invests in the fixed income markets of developed countries across the globe. The fund invests in the fixed-rate local currency-denominated government bonds. It invests in securities that are rated between Aa3 and Aaa by Moody’s and AA- and AAA by S&P and Fitch. The fund seeks to replicate the performance of the Barclays Global Government AAA-AA Capped Bond Index, by employing representative sampling methodology. It was formerly known as iShares VI Public Limited Company - iShares Global Government AAA - AA Capped Bond. iShares Global AAA-AA Government Bond UCITS ETF was formed on October 3, 2012 and is domiciled in Ireland.
