Tesla has secured $30B in new credit facilities, significantly expanding its access to capital, though it says it doesn't plan to draw on the credit in 2026 (1).

  • In a Form 8-K filing dated September 29, 2026, Tesla (TSLA) disclosed that it had entered into three new credit agreements totaling $30B:
    • $20B 3-year delayed draw term loan facility, with Citibank (C) serving as the administrative agent
    • $8B 5-year revolving facility, with Wells Fargo (WFC) serving as the administrative agent
    • $2B 364-day revolving facility, also with Wells Fargo as the administrative agent
  • The $20B loan can be drawn up to 10 times over the coming 18 months and matures in September 2029. If not drawn upon within certain timeframes, the available amounts will decrease.
  • The second two loans — the revolving facilities — can be increased by another $4B, though this is subject to certain conditions.
  • Tesla may use these funds for "general corporate purposes," though it has not yet borrowed anything from these facilities and didn't disclose any immediate plans to do so.
  • Additionally, Tesla terminated a previous $5B revolving credit facility, which did not have any outstanding debt.
