About Celestial AI
Celestial AI is a semiconductor company that develops optical interconnect technology for artificial intelligence data centers. Its main product is the Photonic Fabric, a platform that uses light instead of electrical signals to move data between processors, memory and other chips. The technology is designed to be built directly into a chip package as an optical interposer, letting AI systems scale across many processors without hitting the memory-bandwidth and data-movement limits that constrain large models. The company licenses the Photonic Fabric platform to chipmakers, hyperscalers and memory suppliers rather than selling finished chips itself. In February 2026 Marvell Technology completed its acquisition of Celestial AI for about $3.25 billion upfront plus up to $2.25 billion in additional earnout consideration, folding the Photonic Fabric team into Marvell's Data Center Group.
