About Epic Games

Epic Games is a video game and software company best known for the battle royale game Fortnite and the Unreal Engine, a 3D engine licensed across the games, film and visualization industries. The company also operates the Epic Games Store, a digital storefront for PC games, and publishes titles such as Rocket League and Fall Guys. Epic Games makes money mainly through in-game purchases in Fortnite like cosmetic items, battle passes and its V-Bucks currency, alongside royalties and licensing fees from Unreal Engine and its cut of sales on the Epic Games Store. The company was founded in 1991 by Tim Sweeney, who still serves as chief executive, and is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina.
