About Insitro
Insitro is an AI therapeutics company that uses machine learning on large-scale human genetics and cellular experiments to find disease targets and design medicines. Its Virtual Human platform combines clinical and cellular data to identify causal drivers of disease. Its TherML engine then designs small molecules, oligonucleotides and biologics against those targets. Insitro makes money by developing its own pipeline in metabolic disease and neuroscience and through discovery collaborations with drugmakers such as AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly and Gilead. It was founded by Daphne Koller, a Stanford computer scientist and co-founder of Coursera.
