About Manus AI
Manus is a Chinese-founded AI company that builds general-purpose AI agents. Its product is an action engine that runs on a dedicated cloud computer and carries out multi-step work such as research, slide decks, websites, spreadsheets and software. Manus makes money from subscription plans and usage-based credits sold to individuals and teams. Meta announced a deal to buy the company in December 2025, but Chinese regulators ordered the transaction unwound and Manus resumed independent operations in September 2026.
