About Shield AI
Shield AI is an American aerospace and defense technology company that develops artificial intelligence software for autonomous aircraft and other uncrewed systems. Its main product, Hivemind, is an AI "pilot" that flies aircraft and operates vehicles in environments where GPS and communications are jammed or unavailable, without any human operator. Hivemind has been used on more than two dozen types of vehicles, including the F-16 fighter jet and the company's own V-BAT surveillance drone, and it was chosen by the U.S. Air Force for its Collaborative Combat Aircraft program. Alongside its software, Shield AI builds aircraft such as the V-BAT and the in-development X-BAT combat jet, and it earns most of its revenue from contracts with the U.S. military and allied governments that buy its aircraft and autonomy software.
