About TAR

TAR (Transformative American Resources) is an Austin, Texas-based energy infrastructure company that builds modular, off-grid power systems for AI data centers. Its behind-the-meter plants combine solar, wind, and battery storage with simple-cycle natural gas turbines as backup, letting data centers run around the clock without a utility grid connection. The company pre-assembles its systems in a factory-style process and handles the full deployment chain — site selection, engineering, procurement, construction, and ongoing operation — to bring generation capacity online faster than conventional grid interconnection timelines allow. It was founded by Patrice Becker and Leonhard Soenke, who previously built the creator-economy startup Throne before pivoting into data-center power.
