About YANK

BetaShares' YANK ETF is engineered to provide leveraged exposure to movements in the exchange rate between the U.S. dollar and the Australian dollar. On any given day, the fund aims to generate a return that is between 2 and 2.75 times the daily percentage change in the USD/AUD rate. This means, for instance, a 1% appreciation of the U.S. dollar against the Australian dollar is targeted to produce a positive return of 2% to 2.75% for YANK, with a proportionate negative return if the U.S. dollar depreciates. The fund's portfolio is actively overseen and adjusted daily to ensure its leveraged exposure remains within this 2x to 2.75x range. Nevertheless, it is critical to understand that due to the impact of daily rebalancing and the compounding of investment returns over time, YANK's performance over durations longer than a single day is unlikely to precisely match this 2x to 2.75x target. Longer-term returns may diverge significantly in both scale and even direction from the daily objective. This phenomenon becomes more pronounced with higher volatility in the USD/AUD currency pair and extended holding periods. Consequently, investors should not anticipate that the fund's Net Asset Value will maintain a simple, direct relationship with the U.S. dollar's value relative to the Australian dollar at any point beyond a single day. Given these characteristics, investors must actively and frequently (potentially daily) monitor their investment to confirm it aligns with their financial goals. As gearing amplifies both gains and losses, an investment in YANK carries a very high level of risk and may not be appropriate for all investors.
