The company was formerly known as UB Finance Company Limited and changed its name to UB Finance PLC in September 2023.

UB Finance PLC was incorporated in 1961 and is headquartered in Colombo, Sri Lanka. UB Finance PLC is a subsidiary of Union Bank of Colombo PLC.
