WisdomTree Brent Crude Oil Longer Dated is a fully collateralised, UCITS-eligible Exchange Traded Commodity (ETC) launched by WisdomTree Commodity Securities Limited and domiciled in Jersey since its inception on 9 January 2012. It provides investors with targeted total return exposure to Brent crude oil futures contracts by synthetically replicating the Bloomberg Brent Crude Subindex 3 Month Forward, which tracks the price movements of futures dated for delivery three months ahead. The ETC employs derivatives such as swaps and futures, incorporating roll yield effects from contango or backwardation in the futures curve, while adjusting for fees and costs with a total expense ratio of 0.49% per annum. Fully backed by collateral held in segregated accounts and marked to market daily, it mitigates counterparty risk and ensures investors cannot lose more than their invested amount. This product plays a key role in commodity markets, enabling straightforward access to Brent crude oil—a global benchmark for North Sea oil—without the complexities of physical storage, insurance, or delivery, appealing to those seeking diversification in energy sectors amid fluctuating oil prices.
