About COIDX
The IDX Commodity Opportunities Fund Institutional Class is a U.S.-based mutual fund focused on providing institutional investors with dynamic, risk-managed exposure to global commodity markets. Its primary purpose is to deliver a superior risk/return profile compared to traditional long-only commodity funds by employing an adaptive strategy that tactically allocates across a broad spectrum of asset classes, including commodities, equities, fixed income, and currencies. Notably, the fund leverages both futures and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to capture trends and take advantage of opportunities in sectors not always accessible through futures alone, such as CleanTech and AgTech, as well as commodity-adjacent industries like mining and oil services.
The fund is designed to flexibly invest in both long and short positions, enabling it to respond to divergent market conditions across commodities like precious metals, energy, grains, and more. It invests at least 80% of its assets in securities and derivatives linked to commodity-related companies and sectors, either within the U.S. or globally, including emerging markets. A portion of assets is also allocated to investment-grade fixed income instruments to provide liquidity, preserve capital, and serve as margin or collateral. The IDX Commodity Opportunities Fund Institutional Class aims to play a key role in institutional portfolios by offering diversified, actively managed commodity exposure beyond the constraints of passive or single-strategy funds.
