It operates through five segments: Fire and Property Damage; Marine, Aviation and Transport; Motor; Crop; and Miscellaneous.
The Fire and Property Damage segment provides insurance coverage against fire, lightning, riot and strike damage, malicious damage, atmospheric disturbance, earthquake, explosion, impact damage, aircraft damage, etc. The Marine, Aviation and Transport segment offers marine cargo insurance; and marine hull insurance, including coverage for ocean going vessels, barges, tugs, dredgers, fishing trawlers, yachts, wooden dhows, pleasure/speed boats, last breakup voyages, etc. The Motor segment provides insurance for accidental external means; riots, strikes, and malicious damages; theft; fire, external explosion, self-ignition, or lightning or frost; and third-party liability.
The Crop segment provides financial protection against natural disasters, fire and lightening, and insect/pets attack on standing crop.
The Miscellaneous segment offers hospital care insurance, including maternity and outpatient care, as well as insurance cover against burglary, loss of cash in safe, cash in transit, money, engineering losses, travel guard, performance and maintenance bond, travel bonds and guarantees, reinsurance, engineering and livestock, personal accident, worker’s compensation, products of financial institutions, health, etc. Further, it offers bankers blanket insurance; car and commercial vehicle insurance; credit and suretyship coverage; and travel and cargo agents guarantees.
The company was incorporated in 1959 and is headquartered in Lahore, Pakistan.
