About Foundation Future Industries
Foundation Future Industries is a robotics company that builds Phantom, a general-purpose humanoid robot aimed at heavy industry and defense rather than household chores. Phantom stands about six feet tall, carries close to 90 pounds and runs on proprietary cycloidal actuators and an in-house AI stack called Cortex, which predicts the physics of a task instead of copying demonstrations. Foundation makes money by leasing industrial robots to manufacturers for roughly $100,000 per robot per year and by selling defense versions to the US government for about $300,000 each, on top of $24 million in military research contracts. The company says Phantoms worked 24 hours a day, five days a week on automotive production lines in 2025, and it sent two units to Ukraine in early 2026 in what it calls the first deployment of humanoid robots in an active combat zone.
