About Mach Industries
Mach Industries is a defense technology company that designs and manufactures low-cost autonomous aircraft, munitions and propulsion systems for the U.S. military and its allies. Its lineup includes Viper, a turbojet vertical-takeoff attack drone, along with the Glide and Pike strike munitions, the Stratos high-altitude pseudo-satellite and the Dart counter-drone interceptor. The company operates a flexible manufacturing network called Forge and a propulsion division, Mach Energetics, that produces solid rocket motors and runs energetics testing. Mach Industries makes money by selling these systems and winning development and production contracts from U.S. defense customers such as the Army and the Defense Innovation Unit. It was founded in 2023 by Ethan Thornton, a Thiel Fellow who dropped out of MIT to start the company, which is headquartered in Huntington Beach, California.
