About Radiant
Radiant is a nuclear energy company that builds Kaleidos, a 1 MW portable microreactor meant to replace diesel generators. The helium-cooled reactor uses TRISO fuel and fits in a shipping container that can be moved by truck, ship or plane. Each unit is designed to run for five years between factory refueling and for 20 years in total. Radiant makes money by selling the units outright or through power purchase agreements to military bases, data centers and other off-grid sites. Equinix has preordered 20 reactors, and the U.S. Army has awarded Radiant a contract of up to $750 million to deploy 15 units under the Janus program.
