About Uniswap
Uniswap Labs is the software company behind the Uniswap Protocol, the largest decentralized crypto exchange, which lets users swap tokens directly from their own wallets without an intermediary. The company builds the main products for using the protocol, including the Uniswap web app, a self-custody wallet, a trading API for developers and Unichain, an Ethereum layer 2 network built for DeFi. After the UNIfication governance proposal passed in late 2025, Uniswap Labs dropped the fees it had charged on its interface, wallet and API. It now makes money through an annual growth budget of 20 million UNI tokens granted by Uniswap governance to fund protocol development and growth.
