About Zum

Zum is a student transportation company that contracts with K-12 school districts to run bus operations and the software that routes those fleets. Its Zum CMX platform connects routing, dispatch, drivers, vehicles and families in real time. Districts can run both Zum-operated buses and their own in-house fleets on the same system. The company also deploys electric school buses and vehicle-to-grid charging that can send stored energy back to the grid. Zum makes money through multi-year district contracts for managed transportation and by putting its software on district-owned buses.
