Satrix 40 ETF is an exchange traded fund launched by Satrix Managers (RF) Proprietary Limited. The fund is managed by Sanlam Investment Management (Pty) Ltd. It invests in the public equity markets of South Africa. The fund seeks to invest in the stocks of companies operating in resources, industrial, retail, telecommunication, and financial sectors. It invests in the stocks of large-cap companies. The fund seeks to replicate the performance of the FTSE/JSE Top 40 Index, by investing in the stocks of companies as per their weightings in the index. Satrix 40 ETF was formed on November 9, 2000 and is domiciled in South Africa.
