About Tenstorrent

Tenstorrent is a computing company that designs AI processors and sells them as an alternative to Nvidia GPUs. Its chips are built around Tensix cores and the open RISC-V architecture. They are sold as add-in cards, workstations and Galaxy server systems for data centers. The company also licenses its RISC-V CPU and AI chiplet designs to customers that want to build their own silicon. Tenstorrent makes money by selling this hardware and cloud access to it. It also earns licensing revenue from its intellectual property. The company was founded in Toronto in 2016 by Ljubisa Bajic, Milos Trajkovic and Ivan Hamer. It is now led by veteran chip designer Jim Keller and headquartered in Santa Clara, California.
