About Terabase Energy
Terabase Energy is a solar technology company that automates and digitizes the construction of utility-scale solar power plants. Its flagship product, Terafab, is a portable field factory that uses robotics and AI to assemble solar modules onto tracker torque tubes at the job site and move them into place with rovers. The second-generation system, released for commercial shipment in March 2026, runs a two-minute cycle time that the company says installs more than 20 megawatts a week per line. Terabase also sells software for the rest of the project lifecycle, including PlantPredict for energy modeling, Construct for GIS-based construction management with drone monitoring and a digital twin, plus SCADA and plant control products for operating plants. It makes money by selling and deploying Terafab systems to solar developers and EPC contractors and by selling its software and engineering consulting services. The company was founded in 2019 by six SunPower veterans and bought the PlantPredict modeling tool from First Solar in 2021.
