About Zipline
Zipline is a robotics company that designs, manufactures and operates autonomous delivery drones. Its electric fixed-wing aircraft, called Zips, carry blood, medicine, food and retail goods and deliver them to homes, hospitals and businesses within minutes of an order. The company runs two services. Platform 1 makes long-range deliveries to hospitals and health facilities and is a core part of medical supply chains in several African countries. Platform 2 handles home delivery in US metro areas for partners such as Walmart and more than a dozen restaurant brands. Zipline makes money by charging businesses, health systems and governments for deliveries through per-delivery fees and ongoing service contracts.
